Welcome to Northbrook Primary Academy. At our school we provide a nurturing environment for each child, where they feel safe and supported to achieve their full potential. Our logo represents the nurture and opportunities for growth we provide for all of the children in our care. The compass and brook not only refer to our name, they also represent the educational journey each child will embark on from the moment they join us here at Northbrook.

A Very Warm Welcome to Northbrook Primary Academy

We are delighted to welcome you and your family to Northbrook Primary Academy's website. If you already have a child here, we look forward to continuing our partnership. If your child is to join us for the first time, we welcome you as parents and hope that you will soon feel part of our inclusive, caring and friendly school community. We are sure that you and your child will be happy to spend many years with us.

We were delighted that Northbrook Primary School became part of Endeavour Learning Trust family of schools in Summer 2020 and alongside the other schools in the Trust  we aim to provide the best possible care and education for your child.

At Northbrook, our children’s happiness, well-being and achievements are at the heart of everything we do. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment and pride ourselves on our warm, nurturing and family-orientated atmosphere.

We recognise that every child is unique and all our staff strive to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to work to the best of their ability. We endeavour to develop the whole child and prepare each one academically, emotionally and socially to live and succeed in an ever-changing world. We provide our children with a wide range of experiences to ensure every child can develop a love of learning, enjoy being in school and have a chance to shine. We aspire to ensure that our children leave us with the best possible foundations upon which they can build throughout their lives. We are incredibly proud of our children and want our children to feel proud of themselves.

We take pride in the family atmosphere that we have developed and value the partnerships we have with parents, carers and the local community. It is important to us all at Northbrook that parents feel part of our school as well and always feel welcome.

I hope that you find our website informative and useful as an introduction to Northbrook. If you have not visited our school and would like to, please call and we will arrange an appointment so that you can visit our classes, talk to the staff and pupils, and see what Northbrook has to offer. Be assured that a warm welcome always awaits you!

Introduction to our School.

Northbrook is a smaller than average primary school located in Leyland. The school opened its doors for the first time in June 1955 as Broadfield Junior School and then amalgamated with Earnshaw Bridge Infant School in 1999 to become Northbrook Primary School.

The school is currently one form entry and is built on one level. We have 7 classes: Reception through to Year 6 with up to 30 children per class.

The school has a separate Library and nurture room and two large halls used for a variety of different activities throughout the week. We are very lucky to have a substantial surrounding field for outside activities.

We have a purpose-built kitchen which enables us to prepare and cook the children’s lunches fresh each day.

Our staff are talented, experienced and passionate about providing the best possible learning experiences. They always put the needs of the children, whether they be educational, personal or social, as their first and most important priority. They employ a range of teaching styles and techniques to enable the children to achieve the highest possible standards.

We believe that education extends beyond the academic to the development of the whole child into a capable and confident individual, ready and able to take a place in society.

Our core aim is to provide children with the skills, knowledge, attitudes and confidence which are necessary to enable them to make informed choices for themselves. The children experience a wide range of learning opportunities that are intended to develop them academically and personally.

Parents and volunteers are encouraged to take an active role in the school. They are invited to support teachers through such activities as hearing children read. They are also invited to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher on a regular basis.
