Year 5 2023-24

Welcome to Year 5 at Northbrook Primary Academy

Here in Year 5 we love to learn! We never give up, try our best in everything we do and make the most of exciting opportunities that come our way. We explore new topics as well as continuing to progress in our reading, writing and Maths.

Throughout the year, the children will learn about the vicious Vikings, spectacular space, Ancient Greeks, Crime and Punishment and much more. W also have specialist teachers for both Spanish and P.E.

In Year 5, we nurture and care for each other and focus on becoming good citizens as well as being good role models around school and in the wider community. We take pride in what we do and work hard but also have fun along the way!

Important days

On Tuesdays, we will have our PE session, in the form of swimming lessons. Our second PE session this half-term will be on Friday afternoons.

We are also lucky enough to have Forest School sessions on a Wednesday afternoon, with Mrs Cole, weekly during half-term 2.

Please make sure your child wears sensible footwear and their PE kit/ tracksuit bottoms with their school PE t-shirt and PE hoody on PE days.

Reading books are to be brought into school everyday.
